Beth Hommes

Beth Hommes has over three decades' teaching experience.

Beth graduated from Smith College and did graduate work in science and education at Harvard University and the University of Delaware, where she won the Woman of Promise Award in 1989. After interning at St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire, she taught science and math for over thirty years. While Beth spent most of this time teaching in independent schools, she also has experience in public and parochial schools, as well as at the university level in Delaware and North Carolina. Schools where she has taught include Tatnall School, Independence School, Padua Academy, Tower Hill School and West Henderson High School. In 1995, Beth was awarded the Delaware Environmental Educator of the Year. 

As an Academic Advisor, Department Head and Teacher, Beth has worked with countless students during the admissions process. She has written hundreds of recommendation letters and developed a series of SkilMods for the University of Delaware to help students with time management, study skills and career planning. Additionally, Beth has administered the SAT, PSAT, PLAN, ERB and AMC tests. Her involvement in student extracurricular activities includes coaching Academic Bowl, Science Olympiad and men’s tennis (Delaware State Champions 2012).

Katerina Manoff

Katerina Manoff holds a Master's degree in Education from Harvard University, where her studies focused on educational product development and evaluation, as well as optimizing teaching and learning based on the newest research findings in the education field. She is currently the Student Survey Manager at the Division of Talent, Labor, and Innovation of the New York City Department of Education (DoE). 

Before her position at the DoE, Katerina worked as a Literacy Manager at Success Academy Charter Schools, a network of 22 high-performing schools in New York City. At Success, Katerina created curriculum and assessments for over 1,500 students; her work contributed to Success' top scores on New York State tests (top 7% in the state). Katerina's experience in education also includes one-on-one and small group tutoring with high school and college students, including academic support, test preparation and assistance with college/graduate school admissions. 

Before transitioning to education, Katerina worked in the financial services industry, most recently as an investment banker at Evercore Partners. Her professional experience also includes business roles in three startup companies. Katerina is a graduate of the dual-degree Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business at the University of Pennsylvania, from where she has earned two bachelor's degrees.

Elana (Bloch) Goldblatt

Elana (Bloch) Goldblatt is a former High School Counselor and College Advisor with seven years' experience in the New York City public schools.  

Elana received her education training at Fordham University, where she graduated with a Master of Science in Education with concentrations in Counseling and Personnel Services, with honors.  During that time she took on several roles in the school system from interning at a middle school/high school where she addressed multiple student issues to substitute teaching in schools at the elementary through high school levels. Elana received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Mass Media from the University of Delaware.

Elana has counseled thousands of students through the college process. Her experience includes working with students in creating their college list, conducting application workshops, writing student recommendations and sending out all completed applications on behalf of the students. Elana organized and executed college fairs, coordinated guest speakers regarding college options, career exploration and financial assistance, and administered the PSAT to 10th and 11th grade students. Additionally, Elana has taken on the role of Interim Assistant Principal where she performed various administrative duties, handled day-to-day situations and administered the Advanced Placement (AP) tests to 11th and 12th grade students.  

Elana currently resides in Weston, CT where she lives with her husband and two young sons.  She is passionate about working with students while on their journey throughout the college exploration process.
